There is link between health and happiness. And these benefits include improvements to the immune system. When you have better immunity it means your body has defence to fight against infections (Immune Defence).

Hi, this is my first blog on IMMUNITY, with some researches and own experiences I have tried to bring more information to help you to overcome with problems if facing because of less immunity. So now you must be waiting know how to improve your immunity, Causes for often falling sick and tips to keep your health great and fit by increasing Immune System… Surprise and fact is, the pharmacy is in your kitchen where you can get the best solution and treatments for any illness, nowadays we have adopted modern method taking medicines for minor issues. But we must note that the traditional system of medicine always has benefits without having any side effects. I will share my grand mother’s recommendations here with you, whenever I used to take basic complaints to her like headache or stomache she used to ask me to go straight to kitchen find some ginger make hot tea with lemon juice and drink, for stomach upset drink black tea with lemon juice which soothes your stomach. So here I want to say is, your kitchen is your first aid for your basic health complaints which will solve your problem also helps to boosts your immunity.​

Why it is necessary to think about IMMUNE SYSTEM STRONG.

After prolonged discussion with my family and friends always the only one topic popped up was about HEALTH how to keep it better. The only Mantra I found is I M M U N I T Y……… ​

How important IMMUNITY is for any age infants, toddlers, teens, older people anyone to fight against the disease. The Immune system has a vital role in our body and it is made up of various organs, cells and proteins. As long as your Immune system is working fine we even do not notice that the particular something like the Immune system is present in your body but when it stops working properly it will become difficult to fight against any diseases even with common cold or cough and fever.​

Let’s first understand what is Immunity​

The immune system protects the body against foreign bodies. If the immune system functions properly it identifies and attacks different types of germs, viruses, bacteria and parasites and any unwanted particles which might damage our system.​

How the Immune System works ​

When the body senses foreign particles (called antigens) entering our body the immune system works to recognize the foreign particles and get rid of them and the body makes antibodies that will protect the person from future attacks by the germs.​

These are two types of Immunity: ​

Natural ( inherited) – This is naturally existing and It does not require prior sensitization to an antigen.

Artificial (Adaptive) immunity – the immunity will be Induced by vaccine

So here are some important points on how Immunity works and do’s and don’t. And how to keep it strong.​ ​Super foods that will help in boosting your Immunity​

I have noted certain ways to improve the Immunity naturally, by implementing these in life will definitely keep you healthy.​

  • Must include fruits and vegetables in diet
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Drink stored water from copper vessel
  • If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation
  • Get adequate sleep
  • Steps to be taken to avoid infections like washing your hands frequently and cooking meats thoroughly.
  • Boost your vitamin D, get some sunshine
  • Include GHEE in your diet: This is antioxidant which boosts your immunity and helps to absorb nutrients.
  • Try to minimize STRESS – When we are stressed, the immune system’s ability to fight off antigens is reduced. The stress hormone called corticosteroid can suppress the effectiveness of the immune system.
  • YOGA and asanas – consistence YOGA practice along with certain poses, in particular, can support and boost the immune system. The fact that yoga reduces stress systemically in the body, which reduces inflammation overall.

 

Avoid foods which imbalance or weaken your Immune system ​or to keep your immune health good.

  • Deep-fried or oily foods
  • Packaged/preserved foods
  • Processed foods
  • Foods and drinks high in sugar
  • Refined carbohydrates

Here are the tips for you…​

  • Serve more fruits and vegetables
  • give soaked almonds
  • In toddler we tend to see that some kids ignore being hygiene, Guarding against germs and bacteria’s – washing hands is one which is important.
  • For infants/babies should be breastfed that helps to build their immune system stronger.
  • Sleep time is also a key role.

  • Exercise with family–  it will be more fun and the power of an innocent smile which can keep your spirit high to reach those extra miles..  

 

As you get old the immune will also age with you. Body’s ability to fight against infections becomes slow…

Good news! there are strategies for Older people to boost their IMMUNE ​

One can follow these:

  • Wash hands
  • Get vaccinated (flu shots)

So here is curious point to know which are the secret ingredients from the kitchen that u can actually make use of it and make your resistance power great to fight against viruses or germs.

 

The best and most loved Immune drink I make for myself and my family are

Turmeric Milk

Cloves, pepper corns, cinnamon stick, Grated ginger and grated turmeric root. 

Boil all the ingrediatns in water to half then add half cup of milk. lastly add honey for better taste

Decoction

One Inch Long Ginger, 1 small piece cinnamon, 1/2 tsp basil powder or 5 leaves, 3 peppercorns, 2 cardamom, 1/4 tsp fennel seeds (saunf), pinch of carom seeds (ajwain), 1/4 cumin, 1-2 garlic (optional)

boil ingredients together in 2 cups of water for 10 mins, filter then add honey or jaggery…

Turmeric Milk can consume daily once.

Note: Consume decoction in intervals, like drink one month  continuous daily once and give two weeks of gap and start again consuming by following intervals, as it may  increase the body temperature so drinking moderately is important…..
